Business & Breakfast: Paid Family & Medical Leave

**FREE REMOTE EVENT** For members of the Amesbury Chamber of Commerce

As of January 1, 2021, Massachusetts Paid Family Medical Leave law went into effect. This law provides up to 26 weeks of paid family and medical leave to most Massachusetts employees for the purposes of an employee’s own serious health condition; the birth, adoption or placemen of a foster child; and for the care of a service member. In July 2021, this law will allow employees to take leave to care for a serious health condition of a family member. 

Attorney Maureen Louise Pomeroy of Pomeroy Law P.C. is a business and employment law attorney who will provide a comprehensive overview of this law. Attorney Pomeroy will also offer suggestions to businesses on best practices and steps they may take in order to comply with this law. She will also address any questions from participants during the seminar.

The Amesbury Chamber of Commerce makes these 60 minute presentations possible due to the generosity of Matt Sherrill and his team at Gould Insurance.
