Amesbury's oldest house will come alive beginning Amesbury Days weekend June 27-28th. From 10-3, both days, members of the Captain Henry Dearborn's Company will be at the Macy Colby House, 257 Main St., to show what it was like to live in the 17th-19th centuries here in Amesbury. Simple living from children's activities, to fiber spinning, to making and washing men's and ladies clothing, to powder horn making, to the treatment and performing medical surgery are going to be demonstrated, along with a few other surprises. See a living example of colonial a garden, learning what was planted to help early residents survive. House tours will also be available to those that have never seen this beautiful example of early Amesbury living. Come and enjoy a "Blast from the past" Saturday and Sunday June 27 and 28.
