While 2020 presents challenges to the type of gathering we have had in the past, the Amesbury Chamber of Commerce is committed to maintaining the spirit of the holiday season. This is why we have worked with friends in securing a beautiful Christmas tree for our downtown, with the tree provided by the Sullivan, O’Callahan & Beach family of Fern Ave, and its transportation generously provided in memory of Woody Cammett.
Sadly, its lighting will not be able to happen with crowds of children cheerfully surrounding Santa as he works his lightbulb magic. Instead, this year’s lighting will have to happen remotely. However, that makes the magic extra important! While the community is invited to participate virtually, the Amesbury Chamber of Commerce is working with the Amesbury Middle School Parent Advisory Group (PAG) and PTO to raffle off the chance for a special child and their family to help Santa tap his magic and get those bulbs lit.
For $5.00 per ticket you can enter for a chance to be selected to be that family who joins Santa in-person (social distance and public health practices must still be followed) to help lead the Amesbury community in cheering on Santa as he magically lights the tree. Proceeds from the raffle go entirely towards supporting the work of PAG and the PTO. Secondary prizes will also be selected, including gift cards to local businesses. The winners will be drawn on December 2nd.
