Join us Wednesday, July 24, 2019 for Business & Breakfast: Supporting Youth In Amesbury: What’s Your Role?
When young people feel connected to their community it has positive effects both for the youth themselves and the community as a whole. Youth who are supported, take responsibility, and feel valued by the community are more likely to succeed in life and less likely to participate in risky behaviors like drinking alcohol, or violence. We all have a role to play in the positive development of the young people of Amesbury, whether or not you have direct contact with youth. Join us to celebrate the great work you are already doing to make Amesbury a safe and healthy community, and learn more about how you can impact young people in a positive way.
Presenter: Tina Los, MPH - Regional Project Coordinator, Essex County Asset Builder Network
Tina currently works with six communities (Amesbury, Georgetown, Newbury, Rowley, Salisbury and Newburyport) using a positive youth development approach to build supports for youth as part of the Essex County Asset Builder Network (http://www.ecabnetwork.org). She works with stakeholders including local government, schools, law enforcement and youth serving agencies to find ways to create and sustain environments where youth can thrive. For the past five years, Tina has worked with local and regional substance use prevention coalitions, with a focus on youth development.
