Modern journalism is a constantly changing industry. Print and digital news have been forced to adapt in a world where news is freely available online, challenging publications to find ways to remain profitable so that they can continue to report on the news and issues people care about. No where have news sources felt a greater pinch than at the local level, despite the thirst for local news being stronger than ever.

The Amesbury Chamber of Commerce has teamed up with The Provident Bank as part of our Business & Breakfast series to bring Bryan McGonigle to speak with members about how to interact with press. Bryan is a Senior Multimedia Journalist with Gannett Media, which is the country’s largest, local print/digital newspaper company. He will be discussing how to approach news organizations, what’s newsworthy (vs. what is simply promotions/marketing), how to target audiences, how to draft press releases, and what types of events and topics are more engaging for readers.

This 60-minute, interactive program is free and open to members of the Amesbury Chamber of Commerce.
