Oar Making Workshop

Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17; 9AM-3PM both days

COST: $450 LBS Members; $495 Nonmembers (includes materials fee)

Come learn to make your own set of oars with Peter Stockless, a sailor and boat builder with 30 years of experience crafting custom oars and paddles. This three-day class will cover wood selection, oar layout, and patterning. Students will craft a functional pair of oars, sized for their use, over the duration of the course; students will be responsible for the final sanding and applying a coat of paint or varnish once the class is over.

Instructor:  Peter Stockless, of Stockless Oars and Paddles in York, Maine, is a sailor and boat builder with 30 years experience crafting custom oars and paddles.
